Dr. Norma Padron
Sr. Director Applied Research & Analytics, American Hospital Association

I am currently the Senior Director of Applied Research and Data Analytics at the American Hospital Association (AHA). My team and I support the data management and analysis of large-scale quality and performance improvement with partners like CMS, AHRQ and the CDC.

Most recently, I was the Associate Director at the Main Line Health Center for Population Health Research at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research, and Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health.

Previously, I was a Research Scientist at The New York Academy of Medicine in the Center for Health Innovation , and Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the Population Health Science and Policy Department.

My research agenda aims to identify methodological strategies in which the use of large (open) datasets can be used to improve the design, implementation and evaluation of population health strategies to advance quality and performance across health systems. My goal is to bring together methodologies generally used in economics, data science, public health research and systems design to reduce health disparities and improve the effectiveness of health delivery models.
